Going to ground in the Speer Hammock

ground-set-up.jpg

Taking the Speer Hammock "to ground" is very simple. We recommend a CCF pad, tyvek ground cloth, an old tent "foot print", or some type of protection for the hammock fabric.

1. Using hiking poles or locally found branches (about 40"L), pitch your tarp.

2. Lay out the ground cloth under the tarp.

3. Lay out the Speer Hammock on the ground cloth.

4. Tie off the hammock straps to the poles/branches useing a clove hitch or something similar about 24"-30" off the ground.

5. Get in the hammock and check out how it is laying and feels. If your head/heels are pulling on the fabric, lower the straps as required.
