Going to ground in the Switchback and LightHiker

We recommend using a CC foam pad under the hammock when going to ground to protect the hammock fabric.

Going to ground is simple with the Switchback & LightHiker.

Start by looking for a somewhat level area free of rocks, roots, etc.

Lay out your pad and spread out the hammock on top of it.

Using hiking poles or a couple of sticks about 30" long, stake out each end of the hammock, putting the point of the pole through the Ring Buckle. Then run the bug net suspension shock cord to the pole & then to a stake.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             going-to-ground-031.jpg

Now attach the side tie-out to the other D ring on the same side of the hammock and stake out. Repeat on the other side.

Now you can rig you tarp using the poles for the center support, stake out & your done.
