Product Description

The classic Switchback in a much lighter 1.1 breathable ripstop nylon with a breathable taffeta liner. Coming in at about 26 oz.(no rigging), this is a dream to carry.
Versatility played a big role in the design of the Switchback. It is packed with features that allow you many options in the back country:

Hammock Body
The body is made from 1st quality 1.1 oz. sq. yd. ripstop nylon with a DWR finish. Each end of the Switchback body has a channel sewn in, triple stitched for strength & durability (the Liner is also sewn into the channel).

Bug Net
If bugs are a problem, just zip up the net, if not tie it up out of the way for maximum ventilation & star gazing. This also allows use of the PeaPod & PolarPod. The bug net is made of noseeum and has two dual tab sliders w/corded pulls on each side, allowing entry/exit from either side. You can park the pulls where you want for easy location, entry & exit. The bug net has two suspension points for the shock cord suspension and has 4 outside loops on both ends allowing use of, if desired, spreader bars (not included, see our "how to" pages) that maximize interior space and headroom.

We have included two 10" x 12" storage bags made from noseeum that will hold a water bottle, headlamp, glasses, book etc. They are located so that they are in the same place regardless of which end your head is at. There are also two D rings sewn into the peaks for attachment of a pillow, clothes bag etc.

Our taffeta liner is very comfortable against the skin and provides a pocket for a pad of your choice (CC foam, self inflating, Down air mattress). You can also use the pocket to store a fleece top or a light jacket for quick access.

Tie Out Points
There are four tie out points strategically placed to maximize interior space. The tie out points at the L shoulder & R ankle accentuate the diagonal lay and the other two will open up the hammock completely. They also act as anchor points for the PolarPod, ensuring perfect placement every time. They also work with many underquilts on the market today. The tie out points are also used when the hammock is set up in "ground mode".

Recommended Suspension
We highly recommend our Ring Buckle Assembly & Tree Straps. The Ring Buckle Assembly was designed for our hammocks, cinching the channel ends perfectly and providing strength & durability. It also functions as end anchor points when set up in "ground mode".  Our Tree Straps are a perfect compliment to the Ring Buckles and are available in three different lengths.

  1. It's all in the details 5 Star Review

Posted by on 17th Aug 2017

A truly fine product designed by real people that use their own products. Resulting in details that matter and that I wouldn't have thought of until they [literally] showed up -- like the glow-in-the-dark zipper pulls. I really liked the use of paired rings as the hitching mechanism, which support [pun intended] the use of any suspension material from straps to rope -- and can also be used to stabilize poles if you have to suffer thru a ground camping situation. And it may not matter to others, but I really appreciate a stuff sack that is big enough to hold the product as stuffed rather than ever-so-carefully folded and rolled -- that way I can leave one end tied up while I stuff into the sack from the other.
